A WARRINGTON author will be rivalling Tony Robinson when his new TV series starts on August 11.

Mark Olly, aged 42, of Cinnamon Brow, will present Lost Treasures of the North West for Granada TV.

Mr Olly, who has already written books on the north west's ancient heritage had his idea for a TV series because so many undiscovered sites are in this region.

His first episode will feature Winwick's St Oswald's Church and a later one will explore Daresbury.

He said: "People have helped us tremendously to unearth new evidence and the series proves that many people have even lost treasures in their back garden. We now have enough for a second series."

Runcorn, Llanarmon in North Wales, Wirral, Widnes, Preston, Morecambe, Chester, Tatton and Knutsford will also be highlighted by the series.
