A MAN from Newton-le-Willows has been charged in connection with drug supply offences.

As part of Merseyside Police's 'Project Medusa', which looks to tackle county lines drug dealing, officers arrested a 22-year-old man while on patrol in St Helens on Monday, April 22.

Ajay Delooze, 22, of Holly Avenue in Newton-le-Willows, has now been charged with possession with intent to supply Class A drugs (crack cocaine and heroin), possession with intent to supply Class B drugs (cannabis and amphetamine) and to acquire or possess criminal property.

Delooze has been remanded to appear at Liverpool Magistrates Court today (Wednesday, May 1).

Project Medusa is the Merseyside-led initiative to tackle County Lines drug dealing and criminal exploitation across the country.

Detective Sergeant Carl Lynch said: “We would urge members of the public to come forward with information so we can continue to make our communities safer. If you have any concerns about drug dealing, please contact us, either directly or anonymously via Crimestoppers and we will investigate.”
