A MANCHESTER United fan who placed Internet auction bids totalling more than £67million for commemorative programmes hopes to raise much needed charity cash.
As reported last month, Dave Bonner, from Burtonwood, was so angry to find programmes from the Manchester derby played on the anniversary of the Munich air disaster being sold for profit on Ebay he started bidding for as many as he could find.
While many of his bids were unsuccessful, he did secure one for £660,000.
And after getting in touch with the owner of the programme, they agreed to bury their differences and help raise money together.
Dave said: "We spoke and he agreed it was wrong and we shared a pint together.
"We have agreed to start a collection to kit out as many football teams as possible for young lads in Manchester and Warrington."
Dave has since been banned from Ebay. Any team that is interested in helping Dave or would like kits should e-mail newsdesk@guardiangrp.co.uk
