Sandi Thom thinks kids grow up to fast these days.

The 26-year-old I Wish I Was A Punk Rocker singer confessed she'd love to be a child again.

Sandi said: "I think I pretty much dream every day that I could go back and be a kid. Well, some things I do and some things I don't - obviously I couldn't like go out and party if I was like five years old."

She added: "There was definitely a certain innocence to my youth because I grew up in a little village in Scotland and it was very idyllic.

"My worries when I was five were kind of 'I need 10p for my Mister Freeze'. That was the kind of thing I remember doing when I was little. Then maybe when I got to like secondary school when I was 12 or 13 that's when I started changing and different things interested me. I put make-up on and I became more feminine and I suppose that was just me growing up.

"I think it's weird now because I see kids growing up so much more quicker than kids did when I was young and I'm 26 so it wasn't that long ago when I was a kid - but it's much different now I think."

The Scottish star is one of a host a musicians who performed at Barnardo's Carnaby Gigs to raise money for the children's charity, at 24: London on Carnaby Street on Wednesday.
