Harry Tabb Memorial Cup: Halton Barley 4 Tricorn 1 Bridge Timber missed the chance to go back to the top of The Courier Post Runcorn Sunday League after a lacklustre performance against a spirited Reo's side. Despite early pressure from Bridge Timber with Ward, Buckley and Thomas going close, Reos took the lead in the 36th minute after a Warrne Bellew freekick gave Andy Stringer no chance. Timber reacted with Karl Thomas heading home after Ste Coady's volley was saved but he was first to the rebound to take the game into the interval at 1-1 Bridge continued the second half with good pressure, Karl Thomas volleying over from close range after Kev Wards corner was headed back by Ste Coady. Paul Hives, Kev Patterson and Louis Watson were part of Bridges best attacks but Reo's defence battled and thwarted every attack to keep the game level until the 86th minute. Once again it was Warren Bellew who shot from the edge of the box to give Reo's a good away win. Lee Parry again was Reo's star man with a great display at the heart of the defence and Paul Hives was Bridge Timbers man of the match. DUK Brewer kept up their Rossi's Premeir Division title challenge with a solid 6-2 away win at Bridge Boys. Man of the match Dean Walker scored four for Brewer, with Ainsley Taylor and Lee Allen sealing the win. Scott Swales and Mike Greens sublime strike gave Bridge Boys their goals. NKW Landscapes beat Chemics 8-1 thanks to goals from Gary Jones 2, Timmy Dickson 2, Stu Edmondson, Nicky Wilson, David Corley, and Mike Corley, with Rod Hodnett man of the match.

In the First Division Brookvale looked to be heading for a defeat after going 2-1 down at home to Smiths in a great tussle. Craig Ireland had scored for Brookvale before Smiths took their lead, however Brookvale kept their composure and goals from Thomas Pinnington and Graham Stapleton steered them to the win. Matthew Grice was man of the match. EBL remain top after a 4-1 win at Royal Oak. MOM Si Archer scored twice, with Joe Elson and Kev Perchard finishing the job. Dave Jolley got the Oak consolation whilst Dave Watson was their star man. Aaron Timmis was instrumental in Mersey Towns continuing mini-revival, scoring twice in their 3-3 draw with Kydds. Mersey Towns man of the match was Matty Connor who was tremendous at centre-back, chipping in with Mersey's third goal. Navigation beat Weston Village 3-0.

Halton Barley will meet Bridge Timber in the Harry Tabb Memorial Cup semi-final, after their 4-1 win against Tricorn. John MacDonald scored another hat-trick in Barley colours, with Pete Murphy's goal sealing it.
