WHAT a turnout!
Warrington Wolves fans did themselves proud with around 6,500 of them filling the Eddington End at Knowsley Road on Friday night.
It was the largest away following in memory for a Wolves Super League game and more than double the usual support for the team at Knowsley Road.
Wolves boss Tony Smith said: “They were fantastic and it was an awesome atmosphere.”
He did feel, however, that support along the sidelines – as is the case at Wolves home matches – would have been further beneficial in terms of lifting the team.
“I thought the fans were very good and we needed them on the side of the pitch as it might have been a closer game.”
