HALF TIME: Warrington Wolves 6 Bradford Bulls 8

WOLVES are suffering from a self-inflicted deficit after a disappointing first half.

Penalties and knock-ons have been rife from the home side, gifting Bulls excellent position on a number of occasions and Wolves are paying the price at the break.

But a converted Myler try gives the home crowd hope that this game is still very much in the balance.

Matt Orford provided the first scare of the evening; after a penalty conceded by Westwood gave the former Manly half back a goal attempt. The kick looked good but struck the right upright and bounced hazardously across the Wolves line, only to be gathered by Harrison.

Bradford broke through again moments later after a high kick was fumbled by Wolves full back Riley. But a brilliant try saving tackle from King and Harrison turned Scruton’s back to the ground and prevented the score.

Despite building some good pressure going forward Wolves were the first to concede after a mistake from Chris Riley. After looking shaky under the high kick, Riley fumbled for the second time and gifted Bulls position just metres from the try line.

A series of attempts on the line were kept out but Wolves couldn’t stop Andy Lynch from breaking through to touchdown. Orford missed the easy conversion.

But Wolves fought back in stirring fashion on 34 minutes, started off by a super-human carry by skipper Adrian Morley. A quick play-the-ball from Higham allowed him to break through the Bulls line and he was well supported by Richie Myler who added his fifth try of the season. Chris Bridge added the extras.

Bulls refused to go into half time behind and after Solomona gave away a penalty for a high tackle, Bradford capitalised. A bullet pass from Australian Brett Kearney found the oncoming Paul Sykes, who twisted around to plant the ball down above his head.
