TONY Smith is confident Adrian Morley and Garreth Carvell can transfer club form to the international stage after selecting the Wolves duo to face Wales.

The prop pair, a devastating combination in domestic rugby this season, both start in Saturday's Test, a warm-up for the Four Nations.

Morley and Carvell have developed into probably the most effective starting strike-prop partnership in Super League and have been the driving force between many of Wolves' better performances this season.

But England head coach Smith, who also coaches them at club level, has not yet decided how he will use the pair in the Four Nations, insisting he could yet split up the effective partnership due to the wealth of prop talent in the national team.

"They’ve been good playing with each other but they’ve been very good individually as well," said Smith.

"I look forward to seeing them up front at some stage during the Four Nations, whether that’s together or not remains to be seen.

"Certainly, each of them have been a real handful for their opponents this year."

Although Morley is an established figure in the national team, having represented England and Great Britain almost 40 times since his debut in 1996, Carvell is not quite so experienced.

The 28-year-old Leeds-born star previously represented Wales, playing for them at the 2000 World Cup, and has only made two appearances for Great Britain, both coming in the 2006 Tri Nations series.

Saturday will be Carvell's Englaned debut, although he would likely have featured in last year's World Cup were it not for a hernia injury.

But Smith is confident he will not be fazed by clashes with the best in the game when England meet Australia, New Zealand and France in the Four Nations, which starts next week.

He said: "Mozzer’s shown time after time on the international stage that he can handle it and I’ve got no doubt Gaz can as well.

"He’s probably been a bit unfortunate a couple of times throughout my tenure as England coach to miss out, mainly due to injury on occasion, otherwise he’d probably have more caps under his belt than he does right now."
