Warrington Wolves aiming to improve on recent performances

WARRINGTON Wolves do not need reminding how tough an opponent Celtic Crusaders can be.

They may be bottom of the Super League ladder with only two wins so far but they gave Warrington a scare at The Halliwell Jones Stadium in March.

Wolves’ head of coaching and rugby Tony Smith said: “We had to work really hard. They laid claim to win that game against us and weren’t far off it.

“They are going to be tough on their own soil. They’ve been a tough team all year.

“They’ve got some big experienced players who make it hard for you.

“We’ve got no doubt that they’re going to make it hard for us down there.

“We need to be on our game or else you get bitten and kicked in the backside, as some teams have found out in recent times but it’s not our aim to have that little reminder to happen to us.

“We’re going down there to do a good job and we need to improve on some of the performances that we’ve put in lately.”
