TEAM NEWS: Catalans Dragons v Warrington Wolves

SIMON Grix starts at stand off for tonight's clash with Catalans Dragons at Barcelona's Olympic Stadium.

The 23-year-old utility player is given his chance in Lee Briers' absence, taking the spot ahead of expected choice Chris Bridge.

It is a bold move by head of coaching and rugby Tony Smith but one that could pay off.

Bridge has proved largely ineffective when used at stand off this season but has been one of the team's most impressive performers at centre.

Grix has long harboured ambitions to play a more central role, with loose forward his ideal position, so this will be his chance to impress.

Both Adrian Morley and Ben Westwood are back in the starting line-up, having missed last week's defeat to Bradford due to international duty.

It means Paul Wood and Vinnie Anderson drop to the bench, with Ben Harrison preferred to the former Kiwi international at loose forward.

Meanwhile, Catalans welcome back talismanic full back Clint Greenshields from injury, with Cyril Stacul, Olivier Elima, Jamal Fakir, David Ferriol and Jason Ryles also passed fit to play.

Wolves: Richie Mathers; Chris Hicks, Chris Bridge, Matt King, Chris Riley; Simon Grix, Michael Monaghan; Adrian Morley, Jon Clarke, Garreth Carvell, Louis Anderson, Ben Westwood, Ben Harrison. Subs: Paul Johnson, Paul Rauhihi, Vinnie Anderson, Paul Wood.

Dragons: Clint Greenshields; Cyril Stacul, Jason Croker, Jean Philippe Baile, Steven Bell; Adam Mogg, Thomas Bosc; Dane Carlaw, Casey McGuire, Jerome Guisset, Olivier Elima, Cyrille Gossard, Jamal Fakir. Subs: Shane Perry, David Ferriol, Julien Touxagas, Jason Ryles.
