A LOOK back at Eric Fraser’s Warrington career paints the picture of a considerable talent.

He is one of only three Warrington players to captain Great Britain and only one other player has achieved more GB caps than the 1960 World Cup winning full back.

Two of Fraser’s 16 GB appearances came in the 1960 World Cup, won by the home nation on a league-table basis.

He kicked four goals as the Lions defeated New Zealand 23-8 at Odsal in the opening game of the tournament and then banged over six conversions in the 33-7 victory against France at Swinton.

Fraser, considered by many who him saw him play as the best full back to pull on the Wire shirt, joined the club in 1951 and amassed 1,096 points from 50 tries and 473 goals in 352 appearances during 14 seasons with the club.

He skippered Warrington to Lancashire Cup success against St Helens in 1959 and was also captain when Warrington lost against Leeds in the Championship Final of 1961.
