PAUL Johnson will be handed the number 2 squad number for Warrington Wolves' 2009 season.

Wolves have revealed the numbers the players will be wearing on their backs to coincide with today's replica shirt launch at Wolfware at The Halliwell Jones Stadium.

Johnson, who wore 17 last season, has moved up the numbers because Wolves have accepted a request from Australian winger, centre or full back Chris Hicks to change from 2 to 23, a number he is understood to have worn with one of his previous clubs in the NRL.

The other notable changes from last season are new boys Mickey Higham and Garreth Carvell, taking squad numbers 14 and 16 respectively.
