IT would have been no surprise at the time to Warrington Wolves fans that Lee Penny scored a try for Scotland in his one and only World Cup appearance at Firhill Park in Glasgow.
The score came in the 17-16 defeat to a New Zealand Maoris side that included Warrington connections Toa Kohe-Love, Tawera Nikau and Paul Rauhihi in its ranks during the 2000 World Cup.

Penny was a regular try scorer for Warrington, notching more than 100 touchdowns which is a fine effort for a full-back.
The former Orrell St James junior, whose loyalty to the club was rewarded with a Testimonial campaign in 2002, also played international football with Great Britain Academy and Great Britain under 21s.
