WOLVES have beefed up their forward pack with the signings of Wigan prop Dom Crosby and St Helens second row Andre Savelio.

Crosby was part of the Warriors side that beat Wolves in the Grand Final on October 8 and the 25-year-old pens a two-year deal with The Wire.

Former Latchford Albion junior Savelio, who was in the same year as new teammate Dec Patton at Cardinal Newman High School, joins on a one-year deal from Saints.

Head of coaching and rugby Tony Smith expressed his delight with his new additions.

“I’m looking forward to working with Dom. He’s come from a successful programme and is looking for a change,” he said.

“He’s a player I’ve admired for some time and I know he has a great attitude towards training and has a very competitive nature.

“Andre has been on our radar for a while. He has some X-factor about him. He can break the line and offload the ball.

“The fact he’s a Warrington junior makes him even more appealing.

“He’s going to be right in the mix challenging for a back-row spot. He’s also capable of doing a good job in the middle unit.”

Renowned for being a strong ball carrier and an excellent worker in defence, Crosby says he’s heard “nothing but great things” about Wolves.

“I’m delighted and honoured to be joining Warrington. It’s a big club with a lot of history,” he said.

“I really like the brand of rugby they play and I’m hoping their style will help develop my game further.

“I’m good mates with a few of the current Warrington boys and I’ve heard nothing but great things about the club.”

Savelio is the third Warrington junior added to the squad for next season alongside Mike Cooper and Matty Blythe.

He says a move to The Halliwell Jones Stadium is something he has hoped for but knows he has much work ahead to earn a place in the side.

“I’m delighted that I’m joining my home-town team. I always wished one day it would happen,” he said.

“I played with Dec Patton and Joe Philbin at junior level, so to have the opportunity to play alongside them for Warrington is like a dream come true.

“There is a quality squad at Warrington and I know I’m going to have to work extremely hard to get in the 17.”
