WOLVES skipper Chris Hill has expressed pride in his team’s achievements so far and says his side are confident ahead of tonight’s semi final against St Helens.

Hill was this week named in the Super League Dream Team for the third time in his career, joining teammates Ryan Atkins, Ben Currie and Kurt Gidley in the select 13.

However, the Wire captain says he is more concerned with collective achievements.

“It’s a great individual achievement for myself and it feels good, but I’d give this place up for a game at Old Trafford,” he said.

“It’s good to see some of my colleagues in there as well. Ryan’s had a great year, Ben’s obviously injured now but he’ll come back stronger and Gids has been brilliant since he came in for us.

“We’ve got a few troops down but we’re still in fine form. It shows the depth we’ve got in our ranks.

“Games like this are the reason you play rugby, these are the big pressure games you want to play in.

“We’re confident but we’ll keep a lid on it and make sure our feet stay on the ground. We’ll go about our business as we normally do.”

Hill has once again been a consistent performer for The Wire and picked up the club’s player of the year award at Saturday’s honours event, as well as the Warrington Wolves Foundation’s Keith Naylor prize.

However, the England prop was coy on whether this was his best ever season.

“My dad’s my biggest critic and he thinks this is my best season. I’m not so sure, it’s a matter of opinion at the end of the day,” he said.

“I just try and crack on every week, get my head down and do the best I can for my teammates.”
