WARRINGTON Wolves’ players will have to be ready for a “partisan atmosphere” at the KC Lightstream Stadium when they take on Hull KR tomorrow, first-team coach Richard Agar says.

The Wire travel to Humberside to face opponents desperately trying to keep their hopes of a top-eight finish alive.

James Webster’s side know defeat to Wolves will all-but seal their place in the Middle Eights for a second straight year and Agar says the Warrington players will be in for a mental test as well as a physical one.

“If you look at the table, they’re not in the best of form but a trip to Craven Park brings its own challenges,” he said.

“When you go there on a Friday night, you’ve got to make sure your focus is right because it’s not going to be an easy game.

“We’ve got to make sure that we’re ready for a tough encounter with a partisan crowd that get behind their team exceptionally well.

“We’ll be focused and ready to do the grind to get the two points.”

Rovers are on a run of four defeats in their past five games, with their only win in that sequence coming against Wakefield on June 2.

However, after studying them closely, Agar thinks their form is not a true reflection of them as a side.

“If you watch them in depth, they are having a crack,” he said.

“They’ve been significantly challenged with injuries. I’ve worked with James Webster so I speak to him regularly and he’s been really happy with the commitment they’re showing despite the results.

“They’ve been patching people up to play at the weekend as they’ve been unable to train but he says their attitude has been spot on.”
