A COMMUNITY centre is calling residents to back is plan to stage live entertainment.
Grangeway Community Centre, in Grangeway, Runcorn, is staging a number of events to fund a new lighting and sound system to allow use for concerts and amateur dramatics shows.
Kerry Rooney, community development officer at Halton Council, is organising a summer fete and car boot sale at the centre on August 16.
She said: "We all would like this day to be an opportunity for families to take part in a good old fashion event that will encompass free admission/ activities and entertainment.
"There are volunteers working alongside me, who are very committed and contentious, but we would welcome more support from members of the community.
"The centre is a pleasant and vibrant place to be in and I urge others to come and see the many activities that take place here."
The new equipment would cost £4,000.
