TWO teams of budding young gardeners are celebrating after scooping first prize in a design competition held to mark the Trafford Centre's 10th birthday.

The teams, from Partington Primary School and Firs Primary School in Sale, took part in the Trafford-wide contest to design a floral display.

Now, the two winning projects are set to blossom into reality - just in time for the grand birthday celebrations at the shopping centre this September.

The team from Firs Primary School came up with a birthday cake design, while the year five team from Partington Primary School sent in a display based on the Trafford Centre building.
