THE fallout from this year's local elections has continued, with a senior councillor describing an election station in his ward was appalling'.

Orford councillor and Labour deputy leader, Mike Hannon, said conditions in a portable building at St Margaret's Church in his ward were so bad, it would have been closed had it been a work place.

He has now made an official complaint.

He said: "There was no adequate heating, the generator broke and there was no water.

"When I visited in the morning it was freezing in there and they had blankets around them."

And he said the general running of the election had also been appalling'.

As already reported in the Warrington Guardian, the council is investigating missing electoral cards and possible problems at the count.
