BUDDING artist Rory Holt has beaten stiff competition to become a regional winner in the Visa Olympics of the Imagination (VOI) national children's art competition.
Altrincham College of Arts pupil Rory has scooped a £1,000 donation for his school to spend on art materials or sports equipment, plus a personal prize of £100 worth of art materials.
As one of 12 regional winners, Rory now has the chance to win the top national prize - a six night trip to the Olympic Games in Beijing where they will see their winning design exhibited as a flag during the Olympic Games, alongside other winners from around the world. Inspired by the competition theme, "One World, One Dream", Rory's drawing depicts a Chinese dragon above the Olympic rings.
