SCAFFOLDING has been erected outside Lloyds TSB as part of a deep clean of all the bank's branches.
Work to spruce up the outside of the 190-year-old building in Princess Street, Knutsford, began last month.
Contractors erected the scaffolding to help protect the structure.
"We have to be super careful because it's listed," said a spokesman.
It is not yet known when the work will finish, but the bank near Knutsford Methodist Church is open as usual.
Research by Lloyds TSB has shown 20% of people are prepared to leave a job because their offices are messy and cluttered.
The bank believes its deep clean of 1,900 branches will make employees happier and more productive.
