Seals spread the word

The seal reclines on the banks of the Mersey The seal reclines on the banks of the Mersey

THE hot tourist destination for the discerning seal appears to be Warrington.

Andrew Mulholland, from The Ferry Tavern, on Station Road, Penketh, caught this seal sunbathing on the mud opposite the pub last Wednesday, February 1.

He said: “It was there for about an hour and enjoyed the attention from our customers.

“There was also one that passed the pub on New Year’s Day but it didn’t stay long enough to get a good photo. Maybe they like coming here on the first day of the month. It might be a seal tradition?”

What an honor for the Queen to be paying a visit to Warrington. You should all be proud of your British history and of the wonderful job the Royal Family performs as goodwill ambassadors all over the world. Just look at the faces of the children and the crowd at Royal visits to see what an effect the Royal Family has. They are truly admired and loved. What price do you put on that? We, on the other side of the pond, have Obama.
