Will facelift see park regain former splendour?

Will facelift see park regain former splendour? Will facelift see park regain former splendour?

BANK Park may be set for a facelift but it is unlikely to ever fully return to its splendour of a century ago.

This picture shows visitors to the former aviary in the park in early 1900s. The park was home to a number of zoo animals before they left in the 1960s.

Last week, council bosses announced a £150,000 cash injection to restore fountains, improve lighting and plant new shrubs in the park which surrounds the Town Hall.

£150,000 would hardly cover the labour costs for a small team of staff for a month, let alone materials.

I don`t think anyone will notice any improvements!!
