STEEL company Erasteel Stubs has opened its £2million extension.

The Wilderspool Causeway based business has a history in town dating back to 1776 when it became famous for making tools and wire drawing at Peter Stubs.

Since 2006, it has been known as Erasteel Stubs after it was acquired by Paris based steel manufacturing giant Erasteel.

In the past 12 months the company has invested more than £2million in a phased expansion programme, doubling the workforce.

The inaugural ceremony for the new expansion took place last Wednesday.
