THE statue of Warrington legend Brian Bevan is back in place.

The item was removed while work was carried out on the extension at The Halliwell Jones Stadium.

But staff put the statue back up on Tuesday ahead of Sunday's home Super League opener with London Broncos.

It is often said there is no film of Bevan but on the British Pathe News website you can see him in action in the 1950 Cup Final against Widnes, the clip shows explosive pace, sublime body swerve before he is taken out by three defenders. Short clip but fantastic.
