DUMP the car and wrap up warm for international Walk to School month.
Parents in Warrington are being asked to encourage children to walk to school as part of the initiative that runs through October.
Change4Life is backing the campaign to get more to walk, pointing to the benefits of increased exercise.
According to Warrington Borough Council, 46 per cent of youngsters are driven around a mile to school.
Clr Colin Froggatt, executive board member for children and young people’s services, said: “Walking to school is a great way to see the community, socialise with friends and get some fresh air into your day.
"It’s also offers a nice chance to spend quality time with your children and to teach them the importance of an active and healthy lifestyle.”

he may then realise that the money he has wasted on unused cycle paths should actually have been used to enhance the opavements around schools. Onber cannot socialise as there is only enough room to allow single file on most paved paths
Apart from thst there are dangers from puddles in the roads near schools.
