THE last few fundraising events before work on the new Penketh Methodist Church is complete have been arranged.
A slideshow is being held on Saturday at 6pm by Peter Rutherford from the Penketh and Great Sankey Heritage Group based at Penketh High.
Margaret Docherty, who has helped organise the event, said: “The church building is almost complete and we should move in springtime, we hope, but we need to keep fundraising in the meantime.”
Anyone who wants to attend has been invited to bring with them old photos of Penketh and Great Sankey to the church, Chapel Road.
Tickets are £3 in advance or £4 on the night with all proceeds going towards the building fund.
