A new way to experience park

AN action-packed free event will return to Victoria Park for a third year.

The Victoria Park Experience (VPX) takes place at the Latchford park every Tuesday throughout August.

CSO Tony Reid, from Warrington South NPU, said: “VPX breaks down barriers with the police and gives young people something to do during the holidays.

“A lot of the events are more sustainable and provide coaching so people who attend have the opportunity to get involved on a more permanent basis.

“We also wanted to give people the opportunity to try activities that they normally wouldn’t try.”

Activities include rampworks bike coaching, skateboards and skates, a graffiti workshop, football, rugby, bowls, DJ-ing, street dance, volleyball, ultimate frizbee and an inflatable assault course.

Prizes on offer include bikes, a family pass for Go Ape at Delamere Forest and more.

Partners involved in making the event possible include the police, Warrington Town FC, Latchford Albion, the fire and rescue service, youth services and Warrington Borough Council.

The fun starts at 10am on Tuesday and lasts until 3pm.

People of all ages are welcome.
