A YOUTH theatre has been selected to follow in the steps of Billy Elliot and perform in the West End.

CODYS Productions is set to join 13 groups in July to perform an adaptation from the internationally award-winning show.

The 2009 NODA (National Operatic and Dramatic Association) Northwest Award winners will perform a specially adapted version of Billy Elliot the Musical at the Billy Youth Theatre.

The Billy Youth Theatre was set up in celebration of the hit musicals five-year-stint in the capital.

Since its launch it has seen 115 groups and over 5,000 performers aged 10-19 follow in the steps of the dancing aspirant.

CODYS Productions chairman Nick Cupit said: “This is a wonderful accolade for our members.

“This confirms Warrington is blessed with some extremely talented teenagers.”

The performance will take place at the Victoria Palace Theatre on July 18.

CODYS Productions will also be presenting their full version at the Theatre Royal, St Helens, from July 21-24.

Tickets can be booked directly from the box office on 01744 756000.

Meanwhile, the group needs help in travelling to London for the performance. If you can sponsor them e-mail nick.cupit@btopenworld.com.
