I WILL Come Home is a Second World War memorial musical that re-creates a piece of Warrington history - based on true events.
A group of American GIs are billeted to Warrington - Phil is intent on staying committed to his faithful wife-to-be back home Jess, but when he falls for Jane a local singer who reminds him of his gal back home, it creates mixed feelings and forces a tough decision to be made - will he choose Jane or return home to his faithful Jess? Meanwhile, Hank and Joel are intent on just enjoying themselves with as many English gals as they possibly can.
On September 14, 1940, at 17.05pm, as Warrington were playing Broughton Rangers at Wilderspool, a German aircraft released two HE bombs which hit the Recreation Ground of the Thames Board Paper Mill, where a gala was in progress.
One bomb fell in the canteen and 150 people were buried in the wreckage, of these 14 were killed and 21 seriously injured. This play relives Warrington's past.
At Cinnamon Brow Farm at 7.30pm from tonight, Thursday until Saturday.
