AS if traffic congestion in Warrington isn't bad enough, the Latchford swing bridge had to go and stick bang on rush hour on Monday - which was presumably one of the hottest days of the year.
Motorists used to queuing to get through town, sat sweltering in hot cars for longer than normal in extra jams caused directly by the bridge stick.
Yes, glitches happen, but this wasn't the first time. Not only had the crossing already stuck twice over the weekend, it has also been a problem in the past.
So have we a right to wonder why it has never been solved before?
Peel Holdings is well aware of the issue, and it is about time it was fixed once and for all.
Warrington needs all the help it can get with traffic issues, and surely it can't be the most complicated job to make sure a swing bridge, whose purpose it is to swing, swings.
