CHESHIRE Police would like to respond to a letter, published in the Warrington Guardian.

Anti-social behaviour is taken very seriously and I would like to reassure the author of the letter that a great deal of work is being done by police and our partner agencies to tackle the issue, not just in the village of Latchford, but across the whole of the borough.

Latchford has its own designated PC and Community Action Team officers in the south of Warrington also target known anti social behaviour 'hotspots' in the area through high visibility patrols.

Forty two people were arrested in the south of Warrington in June for a variety of offences including public order, common assault and possession of cannabis.

And within the last fortnight more than two dozen cans of beer and several bottles of cider and wine have been seized from underage drinkers in a bid to prevent incidents of drink related disorder occurring.

Everyone can help to tackle anti social behaviour by reporting the details of incidents and descriptions of those involved to police. Parents and guardians also need to work with the police and the local community by taking responsibility for their children's actions.
