The group of youngsters have been working as part of a St Helens libraries project, entitled After School Study Support, which focuses on providing drop-in sessions for homework help.
The helpful children were praised for their work as volunteers and were awarded certificates by St Helens Mayor and Mayoress Clr Bill and Mrs Irene Swift at a Coalfields Regeneration Trust sponsored presentation at Lansbury Bridge School.
Among the winners was Christopher James, who was presented with a 100 hours certificate through the Council for Voluntary Services at St Helens.
Gift vouchers were also handed out to the students and volunteers.
The After School Study Support initiative was operated at a number of venues including Newton Library, Newton Boys and Girls' Club and Newton Community Centre.
