MANAGER Dario Grady has added two new faces to his Crewe side this week with just nine days to go before the start of the season.

Midfield player Brian Launders, aged 20, has been signed from Crystal Palace after making his debut in Crewe's pre-season friendly against Liverpool.

And 24-year-old striker Jamie Moralee is to join the Alex in a free transfer from Watford.

The two transfers follow last weeks £600,000 sale of Wayne Collins to Sheffield Wednesday.

"Brian is young but he's talented and he's shown good form," said Dario.

"Jamie's a bit of an unknown quantity, it'll take a bit of time but hopefully he'll be a useful addition to the team."

Crewe reserves are playing Nantwich tonight, Thursday, and the Alex's season is set to kick off with a ticket only home match against Stockport on August 17.

A club spokesperson said it was to prevent disappointment among Alex fans if they could not get in to the match.

"As we are expecting a high demand for tickets for the opening game against Stockport we have decided that it should be an all ticket game," said the spokesperson.

"This is in order for supporters not to be disappointed on the day if they can't get in."

Tickets for the game are now on sale.
