FAMILIES with pets are being urged not to leave them in the car for long periods of time during the hot weather.
The message comes from the National Canine Defence League (NCDL).
Even with a window left partially open, temperatures can soar to more than 90 degrees inside a vehicle in a very short time, turning it virtually into an incinerator.
Every year, the NCDL warns of these potentially fatal dangers. And yet every year, there are reports of dogs that have either died while left in a vehicle, or suffered severe heatstroke or dehydration in unbearable circumstances.
So remember kids, no hot dogs in cars, they don't relish it!
