MORE than 400 businesses are based in the Lymm area and they will all have a chance to benefit from a new organisation in the village - the Lymm Business Group.

It was set up in June and so far has attracted nearly 40 members.

Mr Jeremy Axworthy, tourism and development advisor for Lymm, who is one of the founders, said it was vital that Lymm had a business group in order to express business opinions in borough and county matters.

The new group aims to establish close links with Lymm's economic development group and with the economic development unit at Warrington Borough Council.

It will also look into grants and funding for training and development and work closely with businesses to assess marketing opportunities.

The group is setting up a database of businesses in the area.

It is also providing a range of services to members. These include: business advice, discounts on products and services, training seminars and advice on exporting and importing.

Chairman of the group is Phillip Sexton, a director of Sexton's Bakers, of Lymm.
