A £2m contract between Jungheinrich, the materials handling equipment manufacturer, and Gefco, the international logistics group, is to be operated from Warrington.
A three-year contract for the national distribution of fork lift trucks has been concluded between the two companies.
In addition to fork lift trucks and other equipment, the contract also involves the use of Gefco's national distribution network for handling smaller equipment.
Gefco UK, based in Chiswick, is an award-winning logistics company. It is the British subsidiary of the international logistics group Gefco SA, part of the French PSA Peugeot Citroen Group.
Michael Comley, manager of Gefco's freight services division, said: "The deal is a true partnership. We are now talking with Jungheinrich about other areas where Gefco can help, such as as handling parts arriving by air from Germany, inventory management and product and parts storage."
