FRANK Morgan cried for help when his home was invaded by 400 wasps.

But when he telephoned the borough's environmental health department he was told to hang on ... for two days.

Frank of Chiltern Road, Orford, grabbed daughters Jemma, Samantha and son Karl, and raced indoors when he saw the swarm from his back garden on Saturday.

The wasps hung around for hours keeping the family trapped.

But each time someone passed close to the house Frank braved the swarm to shout a warning to keep clear.

"The council said they couldn't help until Monday so I had to wait until the swarm moved on.

"There are a lot of children around here. If one had disturbed the wasps they could have been killed, " said Frank a 35-year-old supermarket worker, who has an allergic reaction to stings.

Wife Jeanette said: "Frank hates wasps but he was more concerned for the children's safety than his own."

Council spokesman Norman Speed said: "This wasn't an emergency situation - we can't do everything for everyone."
