THE three Warrington groups bidding for a local radio licence are up against seven others, in the final round up for the two licences which will be granted by the Radio Authority for Cheshire.
The groups in Warrington are Radio Warrington, Warrington FM and Wire FM. The other bidders consist of two groups in Chester and others in Sandbach, Wrexham, Preston (to serve Widnes and Runcorn), Macclesfield and Knutsford.
The Radio Authority hopes to announce its decision in the autumn.
