IT feels so much better to get a win under your belt!

While it may only be short-lived, with the high-flying Rhinos in town tonight and three Aussie games to follow, it was nice to watch a triumphant team again on Sunday.

Nine straight defeats is a lot for any supporter to stomach. Yet it could so easily have been 10 after the Wolves gave us all heart failure against Halifax.

Let's hope the team can head down under tomorrow morning on the back of their second straight victory.

You will have noticed George Mann was in the Warrington team on Sunday.

Big George, who completed his on-loan spell from Leeds in the Salford Reds clash two weeks ago, is now staying at the club until the end of the season.

That's a real boost. And with the return of Gary Chambers and Mark Hilton, the recruitment of Richie Eyres and the continued endeavour of young Warren Stevens, the pack is no longer the great concern it once was.

George Mann, incidently, is giving the Wolves' boys a good hiding week in, week out at another sport - table tennis.

The squad finish training every day with a knock-up on the tables and the Tongan giant is proving he has more than one string to his bow.

A knock-out tournament between the players is on the cards. Watch this space for all the results!

It's not official yet, but I've heard a whisper that Warrington's first game down under will be televised.

The boys take on Penrith Panthers next Friday, July 18, kick-off 10.30am our time.

It will be the first game in phase two of the World Club Championship and Sky Sports is considering the clash for its TV schedule.

So keep your eyes and ears open over the next few days.

Well done to all those who got involved in the fundraising for Woolston Rovers player Simon Cowap's under 19 BARLA tour to Australia.

He will be handed a cheque for £700 at tonight's game.

The cash was raised by a sportsman's dinner on June 25 and a raffle in the Touchdown Club after Sunday's game.
