AN international author will be talking about her life and work in the latest of a series of Challenging Speaker events in Widnes.
Joan Jonker, is the founder of Victims of Violence, a charity that gave a voice and shelter to countless innocent sufferers.
She will be a guest of Hough Green Arts Group on April 10, at St Basil and All Saints shared parish church in Hough Green Road, Widnes, from 7.30pm.
Angela Kaye, the group's secretary, said: "Joan is a much-loved Liverpool author. She is also an excellent speaker. "
Curiosity Bookshop, of Runcorn, will be selling her books during the evening.
Admission is £1 and all profits go to Gift Of Life For Zambia, which supports children with HIV and Aids in Zambia.
