THE pipes of victory were playing last week for ambassadors from Warrington Pipe Band, who came up trumps at a regional competition.
Pipe major Andrew Paton from Burtonwood and Stephen Kay from Woolston, travelled to Birkenhead to take part in the solo piping competition and clocked up startling results.
Andrew, aged 27, a member of the band for more than 17 years, claimed two first prizes, while Stephen managed to land sixth place.
