SQUADDIES serving in the middle east are appealing for girls in Warrington to write to them.
The Guardian has received letters from two troops of soldiers, many of whom come from the Warrington area.
Corporal Rob Jones said: "We have been in the middle east for two months now and our mail is drying up.
"We would all like to receive letters from local lasses, age unimportant, and a photo would be appreciated but not critical.
"We will reply to all letters and have a photo of all of us together that we will send on later."
You can write to Cpl Jones, Signalman Dave Wilkinson, Sig Mike Smith or female soldier Sig Danni McLoughlin at Communications Troop, 211SIG SQN, 1(UK)ADSR, OP TELIC, BFPO 641.
A Kuwait-based troop is also appealing for pen pals.
The letter states: "We've recently been posted to Kuwait and some of the lads are only getting mail once a month and they are either bills or bank statements! It would be great if we could get some pen pals for the lads, which would be a great boost for the morale of the soldiers who haven't got wives or girlfriends to write to, so they can keep in contact with the outside world." Write to the soldiers at 4 Troop, 29AE SQN, 28 ENGR REGT, OP TELIC, BFPO 645.
