Hull FC 38 Widnes Vikings 18: WIDNES Vikings slumped to their third defeat in Super League thanks in part to a wonder try from Hull's Toa Kohe-Love.
The Kiwi, who ran 90-metres to score following a kick by Dean Lawford late in the second half, left Neil Kelly's pack rooted in bottom spot.
The Vikings again proved no push over for the big boys but fell foul of some basic errors.
Spruce (on 14 minutes), Demetriou (20) and Mills grabbed the tries for Widnes, with Hughes kicking three goals.
Jason Smith (7), Richard Horne (16), Steve Prescott (47), Kohe-Love (67) and Scott Logan secured the win for Hull in their new KC Stadium, with Prescott also scoring 9 goals.
