WARRINGTON Wolves skipper Lee Briers explained the importance of their outstanding kick-and-chase game in the win against London Broncos.

He said: "In my view, there were two important elements to the victory - the character in the team was great and then there was the kick-and-chase.

"In terms of character, the boys wanted to work for each other and there was plenty of talk out there.

"With the kick-and-chase, we played London at their own game and beat them.

"The kick-chase kept them pinned in their own 30 metres area so that by the time we were getting the ball back we were receiving it in good field positions, such as on the half way line.

"That meant two or three tackles after receiving the ball back we were able to do damage with our strike players and it showed."

Briers was pleased with his kicking game against London and enjoyed playing on the Griffin Park pitch for the first time.

He said: "It was a short pitch so it was totally different to what we're used to but I thought we adapted well and I wouldn't mind playing on that length of pitch every week."
