COMMENTING on the conflict in Iraq, David Sumberg, North West Conservative MEP, said: "Our thoughts and prayers are with the British soldiers in Iraq and their families particularly those in the north west.
"Whatever our political persuasion I would sincerely urge the public to support our brave servicemen and women as they go into battle.
"Our soldiers need our support in the difficult days ahead as they rid Iraq of the tyranny of Saddam Hussein. May we wish our troops Godspeed and a swift and saFe return home."
