AN ACTION-PACKED drama had children sitting on the end of their seats. Wild Girl, Wild Boy, a play by Pop Up Theatre Company, for youngsters over eight, proved so popular it was a sell out!

The play was written by David Almond, regarded as one of today's most innovative and exciting writers. Pupils at Murdishaw West and Daresbury primary schools were intrigued by the production.

They sat enraptured as they were taken to a place of dreams, magic and memories, where fairies grew and spiders spun spells.

The production was staged as part of Halton's Touring Theatre Network, managed by Halton Council's arts officer Claire Bigley and a consortium of local venues.

These include Fairfield High School, Murdishaw Community Centre, Upton Community Centre and Preston Brook Village Hall. The network introduces the arts to children and adults in an affordable and accessible way by bringing professional touring drama, dance and music to the heart of the communities.

Bitter Love Triangle presented by Spike Theatre Company is the next performance on Saturday, April 5 at Preston Brook Village Hall, Runcorn. Tickets are £4.50/£3.50 and must be booked in advance from Claire Bigley on 0151-424 2061 ext 4038.
