JAMES Philipson, of Grove Park in Knutsford, runs for England on Saturday as a member of the under 17 cross-country team.
The International will be run against teams from Ireland, Wales and Scotland.
James, a member of Knutsford Vikings Swimming Club, secured his place by coming fifth in the recent English Schools Cross Country Championships.
Last season he won the North of England under 17 3000 metres at the Commonwealth Games Stadium in Manchester.
He also won the 3000 metres at the Greater Manchester Schools Championships and the 1500 metres at the Greater Manchester Athletics Championships.
James, who is studying for his GCSEs, runs for Sale Harriers and is coached by ex-steeplechaser John Davies.
