A FAVOURITE story has been brought to life at Chesnut Lodge special school thanks to Sam the St Bernard.
Cuddly Sam lapped up the attention from the kids when he visited them during their reading class.
The children, who have been reading about dogs, loved stroking the gigantic five-year-old pooch and asked owner, Michelle Oultram, all sorts of questions about him.
Michelle, of the Weates Close estate, said: "I think the kids got a great deal from it. Sam had one stroking his tail, another patting his head and others hugging him. They were fantastic."
Teacher Wendy Norton plans to take the children on a special visit to Warrington Dogs Home.
She said: "It was really lovely for the children because they love reading about dogs in books and had a wonderful time meeting Sam. We are very grateful to Michelle for bringing Sam in. He was lovely."
