ACCORDING to the police, safety cameras are not placed to make money, but to curb speeds.
Could Sgt Yvonne Williams please therefore explain why a mobile camera is quite often placed within 50 yards of a fixed camera on the expressway towards the bridge?
This camera is placed such that speeding drivers rounding the bend by the Castner turn off cannot see it until the last moment and will therefore be caught doing more than the mandatory 60mph.
I thought cameras were not meant to trap unsuspecting motorists - this camera does. By all means use the mobile cameras, but not in places where a fixed one already exists.
